Home Staging Tips

Staging

Three home staging tips to get your home market ready!

If it doesn’t add to the décor, remove it!

When evaluating which items should stay or go, ask yourself the simple question “Does this item add anything to the overall décor of the space?” If the answer is “no”, then that means that the item is likely a functional item, and is not needed for the purpose of selling the home, so it should be removed.

Baskets make everything look pretty & organized

Use baskets EVERYWHERE! When we say everywhere, we mean absolutely everywhere! In the laundry room, closets, open shelving units, pantry, etc. anywhere.

Staging hack: Hide unsightly cables and electronics with a basket, and cover with a
blanket or pillow – now, instead of seeing a mess of cords, buyers will instead see a
blanket or pillow storage basket!

If it doesn’t fit, get rid of it!

Buyers will not notice what’s missing from a room, but they will notice what fits awkwardly! This tip is especially useful when evaluating which furniture should stay, and which should be removed, from a room. Consider removing anything that is not necessary to the final home staging design, including but not limited to dressers, bookcases, accent chairs, and even TV’s.
